Our Approach

A relationship-first approach, built on over 20 years of experience helping students who've struggled elsewhere find real, lasting progress.

Built on Two Decades of Experience

With over 20 years of tutoring experience, I've worked extensively with students navigating anxiety, giftedness, ADHD, autism, learning disabilities, and other unique learning profiles. Time and again, students who've struggled and even failed see remarkable turnarounds once they're given the right pace, environment, and support.

  • 20+ years working with all different learning types
  • Extensive experience with anxiety, ADHD, autism, and learning disabilities
  • A track record of turning around students with a history of struggling or failing

A Relationship-First Approach

Real progress starts with trust. Every student gets a relationship-based approach built on patience and consistency. Once a student feels safe to be wrong, ask questions, and try again, real learning can happen.

Trust Before Content

Sessions build genuine rapport first, so the harder material lands on solid ground instead of anxiety.

Confidence Is a Skill

Confidence is treated as something to actively build, not a side effect that shows up on its own.

No Judgment for Gaps

Every student is met where they're at. Gaps aren't shameful, they're an opprotunity to grow skills.

Methodology: Meeting Students Where They're At

Fixed curriculums miss individual needs, so evry lesson and learning plan is adjusted in real time to meet your child where theyre at. I target each student's specific missing or weak skills first with an eye to achieving the student's longer term goals. The gaps that are usually the real reason a subject feels hard. Every lesson and learning plan is adjusted in real time based on how the student is doing that day, their overall goals, and their in-class curriculum.

  • No arbitrary goalposts or one-size-fits-all pacing
  • Lessons adapt in real time to the student's needs
  • Pace is set by the student's progress, not an external timeline
  • Highly flexible and adaptable with a plan that plan bends to the student, not the other way around

Tools & Support

Sessions are supported by simple, practical tools that make it easy to work through problems together in real time . With interactive digital workspaces for walking through problems step by step, clear notes and practice after each session, and ongoing check-ins on progress toward goals, the tools stay in the background; the focus stays on the student.

Just as importantly, families tend to stick around — most students who start with Currier Tutoring continue for multiple terms, building on progress rather than starting over each time.
